Kwikset Deadbolt Has Modern Look

Kwikset brand of Spectrum Brands Inc. — Hardware & Home Improvement division, released the Obsidian, a visually striking, low-profile touchscreen electronic deadbolt. Named after a dark, glasslike volcanic rock, Obsidian merges a sleek and modern exterior; a minimal, all-metal interior; and advanced mechanical and electronic security features. Eliminating the keyway also removes the threat of lock picking and bumping attacks using special keys to defeat conventional PIN and tumbler locks. It features a very responsive, capacitive touchscreen for keyless entry. The LED display delivers crisp, HD illumination, and a dedicated lock button provides users with one-touch locking. It also incorporates the new Z-Wave 500 Series chip and includes Kwikset’s SecureScreen, a feature that can help mask smudge attacks.
