Security never sleeps, but attendees at the ASIS International 55th Annual Seminar and Exhibits will find solutions that can help them rest easier. ASIS International will hold ASIS 2009 Sept. 21-24 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.
ASIS 2009’s comprehensive educational program offers more than 160 sessions covering a full range of current security topics and critical issues, as well as core security management best practices and strategies. Attendees will be able to choose sessions from 16 tracks — including loss prevention, crisis management, physical security and IT/information security — to design the program that’s right for them.
Keynote speakers include Condoleezza Rice, former U.S. Secretary of State and National Security Advisor to George W. Bush, as well as actor, author and pop culture icon Ben Stein.
Rice, a Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the Hoover Institution and professor of political science at Stanford University, served as the 66th Secretary of State from 2005 to 2009. She will speak on Wed., Sept. 23, at 8 a.m.
Stein has had a varied career — presidential speechwriter, best-selling author, lawyer, economist, college professor, columnist, game show host and actor. He played the boring economics teacher in the 1986 movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Stein will speak on Tues., Sept. 22, at 8 a.m.
Networking opportunities include events such as the New Member Reception, Get-Acquainted Mixer, Opening Ceremony, luncheons and the President’s Reception. The ASIS Foundation is sponsoring the 13th annual Golf Classic and a bowling bash.
