Cooper Notification’s WAVES Mass Notification System Will Be Used for Show Announcements

Cooper Notification, an operating unit of Cooper Industries Ltd., announced that its portable Mass Notification System (MNS) will be utilized to broadcast show messages to attendees during ISC West, April 1-3, at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nev. The company said this sponsorship demonstrates the effectiveness of the WAVES (Wireless Audio Visual Emergency System) Mobile Speaker Arrays (MSA) to relay critical updates and emergency messages over wide areas.

The Cooper Notification MSA covers large areas with crisp and intelligible voice, tone and siren warnings. The portable field notification units can be used for disaster management, temporary events and tactical operations. The mobile system requires minimal operator set-up and can be rapidly deployed before, during and after a disaster. “In the event of an emergency, reliable announcements from Mass Notification Systems are effective methods of reaching individuals over wide areas,” said Ratna Reddi, vice president of marketing and business development at Cooper Notification.

As evidenced by its presence at ISC West, the MSA is easily transportable to fit any security need. It can be towed by most vehicles, or even airlifted to a location for immediate use.

Cooper Notification also will demonstrate its complete multi-layered solutions offering at this year’s ISC West show, including the Roam Secure Alert Network (RSAN) for personal and regional text and the SAFEPATH indoor voice evacuation system and voice alerting. Cooper Notification’s Wheelock and MEDC branded fire and security appliances and devices will also be featured at its booth.

Honeywell Authorized Commercial Security Systems Dealers Gather at Annual Forum in Las Vegas

Put 47 security dealers and their staff together in a single room for nine hours – expose them to 14 different presentations about new products, services and support; feed them, get feedback from them, reward them, motivate them, and then let them loose to conquer the commercial security market. – That’s what Honeywell did at its 2009 Commercial Security Systems Forum – which was attended by 47 of its 90 authorized dealers on March 31 in the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

“Thank you for coming in a very difficult time, when you spend your money and you must spend it wisely,” said Joe Sausa, president, authorized dealer programs, Honeywell.

In 2008, the CSS Authorized Dealer Program focused on a racing theme. Yesterday’s program provided the fuel. It covered new products from Honeywell’s Systems Group and Security Group, such as the new asset protection sensor – a product that generated a lot of buzz because it is based on acceleration technology like that used in air bag deployment and can be easily applied to specific items that are prone to theft such as LCD screens in universities and restaurants.

The forum also featured presentations from System Sensor and Honeywell Power Products, which reviewed rebate programs available to the authorized dealers. A representative from ADI covered more than a dozen different advantages and benefits of its distribution services.

One of the highlights of the day were the peer presentations from select authorized dealers that presented ideas about how to improve sales and recurring monthly revenue, as well as how to effectively demonstrate return-on-investment.

“The program for the CSS group is tremendously rewarding in that you get to share and hear from other dealers about the obstacles they face,” said Michael Romano, owner of Audio Sentry Corp., Fraser, Mich., which has been involved as a Honeywell authorized Commercial Security Systems dealer since the program’s inception in 2004. “Small, medium, and large companies can benefit because there are answers and solutions for all size companies.
