Global Medical Response (GMR), a global medical transportation company focusing on intimate and high-service solutions, recently expanded its second headquarter office near Dallas with the relocation of its Office of Emergency Management National Command Center and an integrated communication center into a single location. Both facilities installed new state-of-the-art video walls powered by RGB Spectrum’s Galileo video display processors, feeding eight 55-inch LCD screens arranged in a 2-high by 4-wide array.
GMR solutions include 911 emergency, interfacility transportation, event medical standby, federal disaster response, fire services and patient relocation services. The company selected RGB Spectrum’s Galileo processor for its real-time performance, ability to support a variety of disparate digital and IP-based signal sources, and 4K image quality.
Each center is comprised of diverse personnel, incident command staff, section chiefs, radio dispatchers, flight control coordinators, and registered nurses, and serves as centralized command and control center consolidating ground and aircraft tracking, ground transport, local mapping, logistics, weather, and national and global news.
The Galileo processors receive an extensive range of baseband and IP-based inputs, including video conferencing, PC content, maps, radar, TV broadcasts, surveillance camera feeds, and dispatch data. The processors consolidate critical visuals and data to provide a centralized, correlated view to personnel.
Source signals are displayed in windows of any size, anywhere on the video wall. Operators use touch screen controllers to switch and route sources, choose preset display layouts, and pan and zoom to view particular items of interest, for assessment, analysis, decision-making and response coordination.
“Global Medical Response performs mission-critical public safety and medical services worldwide 24/7,” said Blake Polk, GMR corporate director of real estate. “These services require vital real-time information to effectively and expeditiously assess, analyze, decide and respond at a moment’s notice. The new Galileo-based video walls deployed in our centers empower efficient collaboration, communication and coordination of our ground and air assets. They vastly enhance our situational awareness and assessment capability, resulting in faster decision making and more efficacious response.”
