Buckingham Properties and media and communications agency Butler/Till have selected AMAG Technology’s Symmetry Security Management System to secure Parcel 2, a mixed-use development project and one of many currently in development in downtown Rochester, N.Y.

Located at 260 E. Broad St., the new five-story, 106,000-square-foot mixed-use building will be the new home of co-owner Butler/Till, which will occupy space on the ground floor and the entirety of floors two and three, with employees having access to underground parking and a private roof deck. Retail will occupy the remaining ground floor, along with potential enhanced pedestrian experiences and outdoor seating. The upper floors will consist of 28 residential units and a roof deck, accessible to residents.

Co-owners Buckingham Properties and Butler/Till will install AMAG’s Symmetry Access Control system integrated with Allegion’s Schlage LE wireless locks. Butler/Till will occupy three floors and also install AMAG’s Symmetry GUEST visitor management system.

Symmetry Access Control and Symmetry GUEST visitor management allow Butler/Till to manage employee access and visitor flow throughout the two-plus floors. Using the software-partitioning feature in Symmetry Access Control, security is managed separately for residential tenants.

“Having the ability to manage the business and residential areas separately using Symmetry was a huge reason we selected AMAG’s Symmetry system,” said Darin Price, development manager, Buckingham Properties.  “We’ve been working with West Fire for the past 10 years and trust their expertise.”

Chuck Scramm, sales engineer, West Fire Systems Inc., added, “West Fire is excited to expand our relationship with Buckingham Properties and provide security products and services for this unique development. AMAG’s Symmetry system integrated with Allegion locks provided a dynamic system that met Parcel 2’s needs.”
