The Security Industry Association (SIA) announced that Genetec and SAGE Integration will each receive a 2022 SIA Member of the Year Award. SIA will present the honorees with their awards March 22 at The Advance, SIA’s annual membership meeting during ISC West.
The SIA Member of the Year Award honors SIA member companies that have shown notable involvement in SIA committees and working groups, SIA events and the SIA Education@ISC conference program; leadership activity; recruitment of SIA members; and contributions to SIA thought leadership and the industry overall. This year, SIA will present the award to two companies.
“SIA is proud to honor Genetec and SAGE Integration as the 2022 SIA Members of the Year and applauds these innovative companies for their outstanding engagement, participation and contributions to both SIA and the industry as a whole,” said SIA Board of Directors Chair Pierre Trapanese. “Having the support of members like Genetec and SAGE is critical to advancing SIA’s mission of being a catalyst for success within security and helps us drive and shape the future of this global industry.”
Genetec — a technology provider of business intelligence, unified physical security, public safety and operations — has been a corporate member of SIA since 2010. The company and its employees actively participate in a variety of SIA programs, events, offerings and services. Fifteen of Genetec’s employees serve on SIA’s committees, working groups, advisory boards and communities, and Genetec Vice President of Marketing Andrew Elvish serves on SIA’s executive council. Members of the Genetec team have participated in SIA’s Audio & Intelligent Communications Working Group and spoken at SIA events including ISC East, SIA GovSummit and Securing New Ground. The company is a regular sponsor of SIA events and made a Diamond Level donation to the 2021 SIA Women in Security Forum Scholarship fund.
“Genetec appreciates the recognition of SIA and values the contributions SIA makes to our industry through important programs like the Women in Security Forum, RISE and new certification training in cybersecurity for security industry professionals,” said Genetec President Pierre Racz. “Change takes time and can be difficult, but SIA demonstrated industry-wide leadership over the past year as we worked together to limit the risks posed by untrustworthy manufacturers within our industry. Current events demonstrate that cybersecurity is a clear and present danger, and the cost of ignoring the peril increases with time.”
SAGE Integration — a security integration provider serving enterprise clients from coast to coast and protecting their people, facilities and reputations — joined SIA in 2019. The company is involved in a variety of SIA events, programs and initiatives, with 14 employees serving on SIA’s committees, working groups, advisory boards and communities. SAGE Integration is an active participant in SIA events, frequently attending SIA’s Vertical Insights Symposiums, SIA Women in Security Forum events, SIAThere! networking offerings, webinars and info sessions, along with SIA’s Market Leaders Reception at ISC West, the annual Securing New Ground conference and other in-person and virtual programs. SAGE also has strong engagement on SIA’s learning and development programs, including the Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) and Security Industry Cybersecurity Certification (SICC) credential programs, Security Project Management (SPM) training seminars and SIAcademy LIVE! course series.
“We are deeply honored to be chosen as one of SIA’s 2022 Members of the Year,” said SAGE Integration Chief Operating Officer John Nemerofsky. “This award is a testament to the hard-working, dedicated SAGERs who truly see themselves as the tip of the spear in serving our clients. We are fortunate to work with remarkable clients who set the standards in protecting people and assets and help lead our industry forward. Thank you to SIA for recognizing our remarkable clients and our devoted SAGERs who exemplify the power in true partnership.”
