Dallas Security Systems (DSS) announces the retirement of long-time Vice President of Sales Ray Cherry, effective July 1.
Cherry has been in the security industry for four decades, spending the last 27 years at DSS. He previously served as vice president/residential general manager of Smith Alarm Systems, also located in Dallas.
He formerly served as president of the Dallas Alarm Association (now the North Texas Alarm Association) and as a director/officer of the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (now Electronic Security Association). Cherry is an Honorary Chief of the Dallas Fire Rescue Department and president of the Friends of the Dallas Fire Rescue Department.
Bob DeProspero will assume Cherry’s position as vice president of sales at DSS. This will be DeProspero’s second stint with DSS. He has been in the electronic security industry since 1995, serving the last 20 years on the manufacturing side where he was in sales management with both GE Interlogix and Honeywell/Resideo.
DSS is an independently owned and operated security and fire/life-safety company. With broad integration and engineering skills, DSS specializes in access control systems, video surveillance, intercoms and intrusion detection systems. In 2021, the company earned the No. 24 position on the SDM Top Systems Integrators ranking.
