PyroComm Systems announced the acquisition of Irvine, Calif.-based RedRock Technologies, a provider of design, installation and maintenance of data cabling, security, DAS/emergency responder radio coverage systems, fire alarms, WiFi and cellular enhancement.
With more than 40 years’ experience, Huntington Beach, Calif.-based PyroComm Systems staffs offices throughout California. Along with its purchase of Apple Valley Communications in November 2022, the RedRock acquisition is said to build upon PyroComm’s leadership position while adding advanced security and emergency communication offerings to its portfolio.
“The acquisition of RedRock’s assets fast forwards our goal of becoming the No. 1 provider of commercial-grade fire/life-safety and security systems in California,” said PyroComm COO and Robinson Ventures Managing Partner Michael Robinson. “PyroComm is now positioned to take on the most challenging, multifaceted projects while providing unmatched service and support for our customers, partners and suppliers.”
Founded in 2002, RedRock Technologies has completed more than 10,000 projects in California spanning commercial, multi-family, education and life science industries. The company’s clientele ranges from Apple, Google and Tesla to Sheraton, Hyatt and multiple campuses/facilities within the University of California system. RedRock placed No. 26 in SDM's 2022 Top Systems Integrators Report rankings.
RedRock Co-Founders Tom Swanecamp and Randy Jara will take on executive roles at PyroComm to help lead the transition and ensure a smooth integration of company infrastructures. Swanecamp and Jara will also advise on restructuring and rebranding the company to focus on the most dynamic sectors of its business, including fire/life-safety, public safety/DAS, security, and design/build opportunities. At the same time, PyroComm will accelerate its investments in smart technologies for access control, security and fire/flood prevention, according to the announcement.
“Having worked in the same industry for so many decades, RedRock has a long-held respect for the PyroComm team and their abilities,” said Swanecamp. “We are happy to be joining PyroComm and contributing to their efforts to provide the most specialized and sophisticated fire life safety and security systems available.”
