Verkada announced it has closed an additional $100 million in Series D funding. The round was led by Alkeon Capital, with additional investment from Lightspeed Venture Partners and others, bringing the total capital raised to $305 million.
This latest infusion of capital will further support the company’s “ambitious expansion plans as we continue to enhance our current offering and develop new products and features with a growing global team,” the announcement stated.
Based in San Mateo, Calif., Verkada develops cloud-based building security and operating systems. The company combines security equipment such as video cameras, access control systems and environmental sensors, with cloud-based machine vision and artificial intelligence (AI).
The company has a roster of around 20,000 customers across a variety of vertical markets, including retailers, education, manufacturing, hospitality and more.
