Minuteman Security Technologies, an Andover, Mass.-based provider of enterprise security technology solutions, has acquired systems integrator Security Technologies Inc. (STI) of Vernon, Conn.

With the acquisition, Minuteman expands its presence on the East Coast, positioning itself as the largest independent Eastern U.S. super regional full-service provider of integrated security, communication and life safety systems, according to an announcement.

The company now operates in more than 20 office locations from Florida to Maine, and as far west as Chicago, as well as globally through its program management office (PMO).

STI has been providing enterprise security technology solutions for 30 years under the leadership of Neal Kerr, president. The company specializes in access control, video surveillance, license plate recognition (LPR), intrusion detection and intercoms.

Kerr will continue to manage STI’s operations and customer relationships. STI has always been focused on providing customers and supply partners with exceptional service and support, according to the announcement. This continues to be the goal as they expand their responsibilities across the combined entity.

“The similarities between STI and Minuteman were evident from the beginning,” said Kerr. “After the first meeting, I could see the potential in this partnership. Our customers and employees have always been at the forefront of all business decisions and it is clear that Minuteman shares these ideals.”
