Zenitel is now a full member of ONVIF, an organization that provides and promotes standardized interfaces for effective interoperability of IP-based physical security products.

ONVIF membership is open to manufacturers, software developers, consultants, system integrators, end users, and other interest groups that wish to participate in ONVIF activities.

Zenitel has been a Contributing ONVIF member since 2010. All Zenitel TCIV+ intercom stations are ONVIF Profile T and Profile S conformant. Zenitel’s audio-only devices, from its Turbine range of stations, kits, and IP Speakers, are ONVIF compliant where ONVIF addresses audio.

“ONVIF conformance is beneficial to our business and our customers, as it allows our solutions to be discovered by other conformant video management systems,” said Lars Paulsson, executive vice president, Zenitel Safety and Security. “We believe that interoperability should be a cornerstone of every security solution, regardless of brand, and we are thrilled to now be a full member of ONVIF and to participate in its new Audio Streaming Profile Working Group.”

As recently announced, ONVIF has formed three new working groups that are tackling standardization work in cloud connectivity, audio, and advanced metadata. Zenitel said it is excited to participate in the Audio Streaming Profile Working Group that will define an ONVIF profile for the interfaces and communications mechanisms for configuring and integrating audio speakers and intercom devices.
