System Sensor’s intelligent, single-ended, reflected-type Beam200 Smoke Detectors protect open areas with high ceilings where installing and maintaining other methods of smoke detection are difficult. Alignment via an optical sight and a two-digit signal strength meter makes installation much easier than dual-ended projected beam detectors. Listed for operation from –22 deg. F to 131 deg. F, the unit is designed for open-area applications to provide early warning in environments where temperature extremes exceed the capability of other types of smoke detection. It provides 16- to 328-foot coverage and consists of a transmitter/receiver unit and a reflector. When smoke enters the area between the unit and the reflector it reduces the signal and, when the smoke level reaches the threshold, an alarm is activated.
