This acquisition is HSM’s fourth since May. The company previously purchased accounts from ACS Security in Los Angeles, and acquired Sylvester Security Alarms of Santa Maria, Calif., and National Alarm Pro, Turnbull, Conn. “All four have been for different reasons,” Whall said. They added accounts with ACS Security, entered a new market with Sylvester Alarm, and improved their national presence with National Alarm Pro. In making acquisitions, Whall said HSM looks for a company with a solid customer base, a low cancellation rate, a good reputation and growth. “Jackson represented all that for us,” Whall said. “They’re a fixture out in that Denver marketplace.”

HSM thought the growing, individually owned company would be a good addition. “We’re trying to grow the business organically, as well,” Whall said. “We’re happy about it, I can tell you that.”
