The HandPunch 50E from Ingersoll-Rand’s (IR) Recognition Systems Inc. is a biometric hand geometry time and attendance terminal that eliminates cards or codes and can positively identify up to 50 people. With the Ethernet-enabled hand geometry terminal, employees enter their ID number and place their hand on the terminal. In less than one second, the device takes a 3-D reading of the size and shape of the employee’s hand and verifies the user’s identity. With built-in Ethernet port, networked systems can provide centralized template management and users can enroll at a single location and have their templates available at other locations.
