SLP Capital, St. Louis, and Peter Flynn Associates, Rockville, Md., hosted the second annual Security Alarm Dealer conference in the Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah. Approximately 100 dealers and other industry participants attended the conference, which focused on the current alarm industry mergers and acquisitions environment, the current capital markets environment, best practices in the areas of sales growth, emerging market opportunities, acquisition planning and execution, business valuation enhancement techniques, and recent industry research. Panelists and speakers also discussed the key success factors in attrition management, account creation cost, and risk management. In addition, Afterburners Seminars, a consulting firm comprised of former U.S. combat fighter pilots, provided an interesting and valuable presentation on how the lessons and practices of top fighter pilots can be translated into better business management techniques for the alarm industry.
