The DE7200 Series 2 Port Ethernet Fiber Optic Transceiver from IFS can transmit 10Mps or 100Mbps Ethernet data 2 over multimode or single-mode optical fiber or electrical ports. Initially, five models are in the series. The DE7200 Series can be used for point-to-point transmission in systems utilizing the Ethernet protocol even when there is no Ethernet cabling infrastructure. Transmitting Ethernet over fiber optics with this equipment has an effective range of up to 45km. A Cat 5 structure cable wiring system is limited to 300 ft. per segment and requires additional equipment for extended distances, according to the company. Applications include corporate data networks, access control systems and video over IP.IFS
