Adding to its growing list of technology alliance partners, Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video Products Group, Irvine, Calif., announced a strategic partnership with Keyscan Inc., Ontario, Canada, to collaborate on the development of software that integrates Toshiba’s digital video recording technologies and Keyscan’s security solutions.
The first product of this partnership is a new application programming interface (API) software module that adds verification and consolidated management control to systems employing Keyscan Management System V software and Toshiba Surveillix digital video recorders.
Access control and video surveillance often are treated as unique and distinctive systems within a security program, leading to a loss in overall effectiveness.
The new API module developed by Toshiba and Keyscan addresses customer demand to integrate these two security technologies so that video viewing, recording, storage, search and playback become an integral part of access control operations.
