ImageWare Systems Inc., San Diego, a developer of identity management solutions, has signed a three-year, royalty-based licensing agreement with Honeywell Security. This agreement allows Honeywell to integrate biometric enrollment, identity proofing, card management and issuance of biometrically enabled secure credentials into its physical access control product suite. This will allow Honeywell to offer complete, end-to-end access control solutions for Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12), Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), border management and other mission-critical environments.

“We believe ImageWare’s open architecture and interoperable technologies will assist Honeywell in meeting the growing demand for biometric identity management, credentialing and card management capabilities in government and other vertical markets, including financial, health care and education,” said John Lorenty, general manager, Honeywell Systems Group.

“This agreement represents another milestone in our strategy to pursue licensing and OEM partnerships with market leaders in attractive and large revenue markets,” said Jim Miller, ImageWare’s chairman and CEO. Honeywell will initially offer these solutions to federal government agencies and other enterprises in highly regulated industries that require integrated logical and physical access control systems.
