SPIDeR (Simultaneous Point Intrusion Detection System) detects and localizes up to 10 intrusion events simultaneously. The fiber-optic cable assembly is designed to work like a web. The cable consists of up to 50 individual strands of active sensor cable branching off the insensitive main cable. Each strand is attached to the fabric of a chain link fence or other perimeter barrier. The system can discriminate between multiple disturbances or events in the cable. The alarm processing unit communicates by way of XML messaging via an RS-232 interface or an RJ-45 interface and uses digital signal processing.Fiber SenSys
