Dean Seavers has been named president and CEO of GE Security, Bradenton, Fla. Seavers succeeds A. Louis Parker, who is moving to a new role leading strategic initiatives reporting to Lloyd Trotter, GE vice chairman and president and CEO of GE Industrial. Seavers joins GE Security from his most recent role as president of SimplexGrinnell, a $2 billion subsidiary of Tyco International.

Seavers will be located at GE Security headquarters in Florida. His background includes operations, branding and product planning experience. In 2000, he moved into the fire and life safety industry with ADT as regional vice president of operations. He was then promoted to senior vice president, operations for ADT Security Services from 2001 to 2004 and was named to his most recent role of president of SimplexGrinnell in 2004.
Seavers graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business from Kent State University in Ohio and earned a master’s degree in business administration from Stanford University in California. In 2001, the National Eagle Leadership Institute presented Seavers with the Career Focus Eagle Award, its highest and most distinguished honor.
