In a move Samsung Techwin America called “largely anticipated by the security industry” in a press release, Samsung Techwin America, Ridgefield Park, N.J., will be dissolving its relationship with GVI Security Inc., Carrollton, Texas, effective Jan. 1, 2011.

“We greatly appreciate GVI’s contribution to Samsung’s business over the years, and we wish them continued success in their future business endeavors,” stated Frank De Fina, Samsung Techwin America’s senior vice president, sales and marketing.

 

The relationship ends as Samsung Techwin America realigns its reseller strategies, aiming to become a “significant contributing partner” to the distributor and systems integrator marketplace.

 

“We want to be an integral part of our channel partners’ business strategy,” said De Fina. “We want to earn the business by investing resources at the channel level to drive sales to distributors and systems integrators.”

 

Samsung’s loyal distributor and Integrator base will now be served directly through the company’s North American operations headquartered in Ridgefield Park, N.J.

 

“We will continue to capitalize on the global resources and brand recognition behind the Samsung name to further enhance our leadership role in the video surveillance market,” DeFina continued. “And we will continue to expand our product offering to provide our customers with the best performance and value proposition.”
