On March 3, the House passed H.R. 4 by a vote of 314 to 112 to repeal the 1099 IRS reporting provisions enacted in 2010 for small businesses. As an active member of the Coalition for Fairness in Tax Compliance, ESA has worked to have this provision repealed. H.R. 4 was supported by more than 225 other organizations including small businesses and taxpayer advocates. The bill now heads to the Senate for approval before going to the president. ESA stated it will stay aggressive with the coalition to seek passage in the Senate and signature by the president.
