Matrix Systems, Booth 25041 — Matrix now offers the Frontier™ Universe open architecture access control softwarefor any size end user requiring the security of a full-featured, web-based server-based security system for transportation, business, healthcare, education, government, industrial and other commercial operations.

Frontier Universe’s open protocol is written in Windows® operating systems and is compatible with HID VertX™, Mercury Security and Matrix Systems subsystem manufacturers that are designed to locally manage secure areas while also reporting and transmitting functions to Frontier Universe’s system level processor. Frontier Universe uses a single server, multiple servers and/or redundant servers to provide any desired level of system management.

Communication between the subsystem components and the head-end processor are via the facility’s TCP/IP network. This flexibility enables easy integration with any third-party equipment manufacturers of access control, time/attendance recording, alarm management, guard tour, visitor management, video cameras/DVR’s and other security technology.

A complete badging system is available within Frontier Universe, including an industry standard signature interface and printer. Up to eight simultaneous card formats can be supported. 

Frontier Universe also uses Digital Video Alarm Verification (DVAV) for secondary verification of an activity or non-activity associated with an alarm or system event.
