Fire detector

System Sensor released its Advanced Multi-Criteria Fire Detector, which combines four separate detection methods into one product. It then uses advanced algorithms to interpret signals from each sensor to monitor every product of combustion, while adjusting itself and responding to changing conditions. The detector combines a carbon monoxide (CO) sensing cell, an infrared sensor, a photoelectric smoke sensor and a thermal sensor. “If one of the sensors detects a fire condition, the intelligence quickly verifies the condition with another sensor before going into alarm. The detector has six levels of sensitivity that can be matched to the conditions of a particular application,” said Todd Alford at System Sensor. “As site conditions change, an internal algorithm continually changes sensor thresholds, sensor combinations, and sampling rates to ensure faster response to fires and maximum immunity to nuisance alarms.”
