Charlotte, N.C., the home of NASCAR, was host city to the sixth annual SDM 100 Gala, held June 9 at The Westin Charlotte, where car racing was naturally incorporated into the fun. More than 225 security dealers, sponsors and guests together celebrated the success of the 21st annual SDM 100 — an exclusive report of the largest security companies ranked by recurring monthly revenue.
The Gala program began with the taking of a group photo of more than 45 of the SDM 100 companies in attendance. Friends and acquaintances mingled during an elegant cocktail reception, and then were seated for dinner. SDM’s Publisher, Mark McCourt, welcomed everyone; Associate Publisher, Art Niedosik, acknowledged the Gala sponsors and SDM’s Editor, Laura Stepanek, recognized SDM 100 executives. Dinner was complemented by a video of dozens of photos of SDM companies in action.
Following dinner, guests were invited to continue the fun by playing carnival midway games or remote control car racing, where they could win an SDM 100 stuffed teddy bear! Guests were also treated to magic tricks by a strolling magician, and some chose to have their likeness sketched by a caricature artist. The night was brought to a close with a raffle where many guests won prizes.
