Alarm.com Updates Android App
The Android App for Alarm.com, which already allowed customers to remotely arm/disarm their security system, receive motion-triggered video clips, and control lights, locks and thermostats, released a new app version (v1.3.4) that now enables push notifications for security, automation and energy alerts. Key benefits of the Android app’s push notifications (Cloud to Device Messaging) is that it enables mobile users to receive real-time push alerts even when the app isn’t running; reduce per text charges; and more seamlessly receive video clips and other bandwidth intensive data in real-time due to the ability of Cloud to Device Messaging to support more data. 3 New DVR Apps From Clinton
Clinton Electronics introduced three new apps to allow connectivity with Clinton’s Cricket Series DVRs and Pro Series/Contender Series DVRs. The Cricket Connect app allows users to connect to their Cricket Series DVR anywhere, anytime using an iPhone or Android device. With the Cricket Connect app users can view live video, play back recorded video, and use the DVR address book. It is designed to work with Clinton Electronics Pro Series and Contender Series DVRs only.
For tablet users, the CRK HD app — designed to work with Clinton Electronics Cricket Series DVRs only — features multiplex view where you can view up to 16 cameras. The apps are available at the iTunes or Android stores as well as Clinton’s website at www.clintonelectronics.com/cricketconnect.html.
Total Connect for BlackBerry®
Honeywell launched a new application for RIM BlackBerry® devices. This is the latest application of Honeywell’s popular Total Connect™ Remote Services. The new user interface is icon-based and allows users to control security system keypad functions and video viewing on BlackBerry® devices. The app replicates a physical keypad, letting users arm, disarm and silence their systems, bypass doors and control lights and garage doors.
