AFL and Tri-Ed / Northern Video Distribution signed an agreement for the distribution of AFL's fiber optic products including fiber optic cable, connectivity, Fujikura fusion splicers and NOYES® test equipment.

Tri-Ed / Northern Video, an independent distributor of surveillance, low voltage, home automation and network infrastructure products, has 46 locations across the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.

"Security integrators and contractors are increasingly working with fiber optics due to the proliferation of perimeter sensors and megapixel cameras requiring high bandwidth," said Sean Foley, AFL market development manager. "The EMI and lightning resistance of optical fiber, along with its cost competitiveness for links greater than 100 meters are driving the need for security integrators to become fiber capable. AFL offers the full range of passive fiber optic products needed to properly connect remote cameras and sensors with an enterprise's security network."

AFL supports the North American security market with a nationwide footprint of sales managers, electronic security rep firms and its well-known training business, The Light Brigade®.

"We believe that adding AFL's fiber optic infrastructure products to Tri-Ed / Northern's robust offering of cameras, video transceivers and media converters will further enhance the competitive edge for our customers," stated Matt Ehrman, director of network relations for Tri-Ed / Northern Video Distribution.
