Pelco by Schneider Electric released the DX4700HD and DX4800HD Series hybrid video recorders. The DX4700HD/DX4800HD Series adds support for up to eight IP megapixel cameras on each HVR, in addition to eight or 16 analog cameras, for a total of 16 or 24 cameras. A powerful processor supports up to 12 Mbps of bandwidth, while an improved graphics processor supports the display of 1080p HD video at the HVR. Both models record up to 30 ips on all channels, and the DX4800HD adds the ability to record full frame rate video at 4CIF resolutions for all cameras. Other features include bidirectional audio for enhanced security, access to instant playback for quick investigative work, and the ability to capture and overlay ATM/POS text with video recording. The DX4700HD/DX4800HD Series has up to 8 TB of internal storage and H.264 main profile video compression. Customers can expand storage with either JBOD or RAID-5 optional eSATA devices. DX4700HD/DX4800HD series HVRs also match security requirements to storage needs with the HDD partitioning feature, which can allocate individual disk partitions for normal and alarm recording.
