Pakedge Device and Software introduced its BakPak Apple iOS app, which enables an iPad or iPhone to reboot and remotely power cycle individual ports on any Pakedge PoE switch and power distribution unit. The BakPak app is currently available at the iTunes store. In addition, the app lets installers add multiple jobs/locations to their project databases, with multiple devices per location. Systems integrators can store all their device profiles and settings on their iPad or iPhone for immediate access. In addition, they can back up all of their profiles and settings to iCloud or a local device, and then can load their settings to a different iPad or iPhone. Installers check the data or PoE status of their devices by sending commands to the devices themselves and looking at their front panel LEDs.
