Nedap AVI introduced the uPASS Access, an RFID reader for building access control. The uPASS Access supports the passive UHF technology (EPC Gen II) and enables a read range of up to 2 meters. The reader is characterized by a small design that fits on interior doorposts. The product offers users the ability to select for each individual situation the best appropriate access control solution. The uPASS Access contains a patented antenna design. The reader is 15 cm high by 5 cm wide by 4 cm deep. The uPASS Access reader supports all common security industry standards for communication with access control systems. The reader can be used indoors and outdoors with an IP65 rating, and supports Wiegand connections as well as serial connections, including RS485.
