Tri-Ed, ISC West Booth No. 18045 — Distributor TRI-ED finalized an agreement to distribute the Videofied indoor line of wireless video alarms. The new Videofied indoor products will be launched formally at ISC West.

Videofied monitored burglar alarms deliver a video clip of an intrusion directly to the central station for immediate review and dispatch. The new Videofied product line is designed especially for indoor commercial and residential applications, and costs about the same as a traditional wireless alarm system, emphasized a Videofied spokesperson. The new, interactive “dealer-branded” mobile app allows property owners to remotely access the cameras from their smartphones, as well as arm and disarm the system.

“Tri-Ed is excited about this new partnership. We think Videofied offers a unique approach to video verification and can add significant value to a security installation,” described James Rothstein, executive vice president of Tri-Ed.

The new indoor product line is based upon the wireless, indoor MotionViewer. While the new MotionViewer is approximately the same price as a standard wireless PIR, it includes a full VGA color video camera. The size of a restaurant salt shaker — topping out at three inches high — the Videofied MotionViewer is a PIR motion detector and wireless camera (with illuminators) that runs on batteries. It is designed to fit with the “wireless alarm installation model” that has become the standard in small commercial and residential burglar alarms. The MotionViewer has no power cords and operates for four years on two AA batteries, according to the manufacturer.

Keith Jentoft, president of Videofied, stated, “This is a big move for us. Up until now, we have only sold direct to our dealers. Our relationship with Tri-Ed represents a huge evolution on how we go to market. We will be partnering with Tri-Ed and our authorized third-party central stations to move indoor video verification into the mainstream alarm business.”
