For the first time, ASIS International (ASIS), Alexandria, Va., and International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS), Glendale Heights, Ill., are joining forces at the 59^th annual Seminar and Exhibitsat Chicago’s McCormick Place on September 24-27, 2013. This is in order to augment the knowledge and skills of seminar participants and to support the work and reach of each other’s organization. Both organizations will mutually promote each other’s annual seminar and association to their respective members, and IAHSS will host a booth at the Seminar.

While ASIS represents security in many different ways, IAHSS specializes exclusively in the healthcare security field. “We recognize that we already have members in common, and this is an effective way to provide greater vertical depth for those interested in this specialty,” states ASIS president Geoffrey T. Craighead, certified protection professional. Over 20,000 security professionals from nearly 100 countries and more than 700 exhibitors are expected to attend the global conference. About 200 educational sessions will be offered to attendees, along with numerous networking opportunities.
