The grace and beauty of Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center was the setting for the eighth annual SDM 100 Gala, held June 20 during ESX. The Gala is SDM’s annual black-tie event held to recognize the success of the largest security companies in the industry, as ranked on the SDM 100.
The evening began with a reception in the center’s elegant lobby, with its massive two-story columns and marble floor. Just before dinner was served, representatives from more than 40 SDM 100 companies posed for a group photo on the outside steps of the symphony center. It was a moving experience to see all of these experienced and expert professionals together in one place.
Drum Café, an interactive percussion-based performing group, ushered guests into the Concert Hall for dinner. However, before food was served, Drum Café performers involved the Gala guests in the performance by distributing various percussion instruments and inviting them to get on their feet and feel the beat!
During dinner, SDM’s publisher, Mark McCourt, welcomed everyone; SDM’s regional sales manager, Chris Ward, acknowledged the Gala sponsors (see list below) and editor, Laura Stepanek, recognized SDM 100 executives.
Following dinner, guests were treated to laughs and antics provided by Marty Pollio, a physical comedian who included juggling, miming and other techniques in his routine. Gala guests left with smiles on their faces after watching the closing video, which featured SDM staff and SDM 100 executives traveling the world “Gangnam style.”
