Alarm Capital Alliance (ACA), Media, Pa., acquired approximately 1,400 accounts in New Mexico from Safeguard Security and Communications Inc., Scottsdale, Ariz., totaling more than $50,000 in RMR. ACA is ranked No. 19 on the SDM 100. Safeguard is No. 34. The newly acquired accounts will continue to receive the same great, local customer service by knowledgeable service technicians, while gaining access to the most technologically advanced security products in the industry. As ACA enters the New Mexico market, it will maintain the regional branch office allowing ACA to implement its marketing and growth strategies in the region. With this acquisition, ACA has more than 145,000 customers nationwide.
“As our first entrance into this market, we are extremely fortunate to be acquiring such a well maintained customer base and regional branch office,” said Anastasia Bottos, chief business development officer and EVP of Acquisitions for ACA.
“Furthermore, from start to close, we were able to complete due diligence, negotiate an asset purchase agreement, and finalize the transaction in less than 20 business days. John Jennings and his team at Safeguard run a first class operation and we look forward to working with them during the short transition phase,” Bottos said.
Safeguard’s divestiture of its New Mexico operations did not come lightly, according to John Jennings, CEO of Safeguard Security and Communications. “Selecting the best security partner was integral to this process. Ensuring the continuation of the superior customer service this base has grown accustomed to was a priority. We knew ACA was the right partner for us and our customers due to the depth of experience their acquisitions team possesses,” Jennings said.
“ACA is very excited to enter this market,” said Kelly Bond, Sr. vice president of Sales and Marketing for ACA, who oversaw the acquisition and contract negotiations for this transaction. “Working with such a reputable company as Safeguard gives us a strong foothold to continue to grow in New Mexico. We’re excited to learn more about the marketplace and develop additional, strategic partnerships,” said Bond. In addition to Bond, Joseph Chambers, VP of Service Operations for ACA, is coordinating the integration of the acquired accounts.
