Allegion PLC, parent company of Schlage, announced its AD-201, a FIPS 201-1 compliant standalone electronic lock for United States federal agency buildings using PIV and PIV-I credentials. It features a multi-technology plus keypad reader that reads both 13.56 MHz smartcards and 125 kHz proximity cards. The AD-201’s modular design also allows it to be upgraded to a networked solution within minutes without removing the lock from the door. Computer-programmed with an audit trail to track usage and events, the AD-201 allows administrators to update users and access rights at the lock using the handheld device. It is available in cylindrical, mortise deadbolt and exit trim configurations, and the solution is compatible with major brands of master key systems and exit devices. The multi-technology plus keypad reader (FMK) is also available separately for field upgrades.
