SV3 from Building Intelligence Inc. took the top honor among the Security Industry Association’s 2014 New Product Showcase (NPS), winning the Best New Product Award at the NPS awards ceremony during ISC West held in April.
SV3 — Secure Visitor, Vehicle, Vendor — is a cloud or enterprise software application that integrates with local access control, handheld devices, license plate and driver’s license readers. SV3 validates the identity of the three Vs for approval of their access onto a campus or into a building, parking structure or loading dock area.
“Each year, the companies competing in SIA’s New Product Showcase at ISC West present the leading-edge security solutions that are shaping the industry,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “These new technologies and solutions are the drivers that are moving the security industry forward, and I congratulate Building Intelligence on their win at this year’s NPS.”
The New Product Showcase was established in 1979. This year’s NPS Program had 106 product entries from 88 companies.
In addition to Best New Product, The Judges’ Choice Award was presented to Australian company, dFENCE for its dFENCE ballistic shield product. This is a movable barrier that takes the form of an aesthetically modern and functional shelving unit at all other times. It can be moved easily into place during an armed intrusion, and locked into place in front of a door to provide a ballistic-resistant and difficult-to-circumvent barrier.
The NPS judges presented awards in 25 product and service categories, and six honorable mention awards in six categories.
