Savant Systems LLC, Hyannis, Mass., a provider of smart home products and technology, announced the addition of WatchNET to its Partners in Excellence (PIE) cooperative program. Savant’s PIE initiative has been targeted to achieve global compatibility between Savant’s control systems and a diverse group of best-in-class manufacturers from the audio, video, lighting control, HVAC, and security industries, as well as value-added partners from many related markets.
WatchNET is a manufacturer of digital video and surveillance equipment for both residential and commercial markets. Founded in 2000 with headquarters in Toronto, WatchNET is an international solutions provider. “Now that Savant's control products are compatible with our IP line of cameras and DVRs, our roughly 10,000 integrators in the United States and Canada now have access to a seamless solution when interfacing with Savant in the field,” explained WatchNET President and Chief Executive Officer Alex Thomas.
Savant's technology enables management of appliances, home theater, music, security, thermostat, lights, energy management, automated shades and more. The company contends that it provides homeowners “seamless, simple and reliable management of the Internet of Things, all easily controlled via leading portable devices.”
Participation in Savant’s PIE cooperative program will facilitate the seamless integration of WatchNET's products within the Savant system environment, stated Savant’s Executive Vice President Corporate Strategy & Business Development Jim Carroll. "Digital security technology is commonly requested by our customers and bringing manufacturers such as WatchNET into our PIE program enhances efficiency for our integrators," Carroll added.
