SightLogix, Princeton, N.J., announced Frank De Fina, a security industry veteran with more than 30 years of leadership experience, joined the company as executive vice president of sales and marketing as of July 1, 2014.
De Fina shared he was compelled to come out of retirement to join SightLogix based on his belief in the company as a "hidden gem” with enormous growth potential.

“I was intrigued a long time ago. But as we were talking more recently, I got to see more of the company, meet the people and review the technology, and I discovered that it is a hidden gem,” he said.
De Fina considers SightLogix the “next great company,” he told the press during a conference call announcing his new position. “I can’t sit still for very long, but I also can’t just jump into anything,” he shared, stressing his excitement and belief in the growth potential for the company and its smart thermal camera systems that provide security, not just surveillance. Surveillance sees events, but security triggers alarms in all conditions (bad weather, darkness, etc.) and helps stop events, he described.
Earlier this year, SightLogix announced its third-generation Thermal SightSensor, which it says takes the most accurate outdoor security solution to mass market affordability. By combining solar power and wireless communications with accurate outdoor detection, the new SightSensor eliminates much of the installation costs, enabling the use of smart thermal cameras as an outdoor burglar alarm system that sees more.
“We are thrilled to welcome Frank De Fina to SightLogix,” said John Romanowich, SightLogix president and CEO. “He will bring us to many new markets and open many new channels for the company. Frank’s extensive experience creating market-leading businesses is the perfect complement to our world-class technology. I’m excited to be working with Frank to make SightLogix the next great security company.”
Romanowich and De Fina have been friends for years and know each other well from working on the Security Industry Association board.
“I’ve known several members of the SightLogix team [including John Romanowich] for some time and have always admired their drive and the complete confidence they have in their outdoor detection and prevention solution. Their vision for future technology innovations presents a whole new avenue of opportunity in the professional security industry,” De Fina said.
De Fina added that SightLogix’s close location to his home and family and easy commute helped make the decision to join the company easier for him after retiring just a few months ago from Samsung Techwin, Ridgefield Park, N.J. for personal reasons. Read more here: http://bit.ly/1mSdR7F
