The Systems Depot recently named industry veteran, Scott Hay, president of the Hickory, N.C.-based national distributor. The Systems Depot stocks and distributes burglar, fire alarm, CCTV and access control products, along with many other low-voltage items from manufacturers around the world.
With nearly 20 years in the security business, Hay has served in leadership positions across the spectrum of the industry. He was most recently operations manager for North and South Carolina for Protection One. Previously, he was director of installation and field services for Iverify US. He also was founder and owner of Custom Automation and Security in Dallas, NC.

Hay brings to his new role at The Systems Depot a sustained focus on client service, integrated sales training and project management. “We are building a National Technical Sales Center in Hickory for hundreds of associates and outfitting it with the latest in technical hardware, training tools, work stations; all designed for employee productivity and comfort,” Hay said. “Part of the sales center will include on on-site cafeteria with our staff chef and exercise facilities. It is modeled after the work environments seen consistently in companies rated best places to work.” The National Sales Center will be reaching out to more than 15,000 companies in the US.
“When these in-house advancements are coupled with the broad product assortment currently provided to dealers and integrators nationally, and with our Depot Express same day delivery, we are positioning ourselves for strong and sustained growth,” Hay said.
The Systems Depot was originally founded in 1996, in Winter Park, Florida. Through mergers, the company’s HQ was moved to NC in 2000 and relocated to its current location on Tate Blvd. in Hickory in the spring of 2008 at the former Interlogix location. The Systems Depot has provided superior service for over 18 years with distribution locations in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, West Virginia and California.
