Speco Technologies’ HS hybrid digital video recorder is designed to ease the transition from analog to IP by allowing users of 960H analog systems to easily convert to an IP system. Optimized with both 1080p and 960H technology, the HS provides optimal image resolution available for viewing analog or IP cameras. The HS reportedly delivers enhanced recording performance and provides better flexibility in camera configuration by delivering vivid images with a higher resolution.
This hybrid DVR allows all channels to be fully configurable for either 960H or IP and supports real-time 30FPS per channel for 960H and full HD (1920 x1080p) recording, and up to 5MP resolution on the last channel. Dual network ports for isolating IP camera network and remote network traffic are designed to make bandwidth issues less challenging. The HS also uses Speco’s Digital Deterrent technology — audio messaging to help assist in preventing crime.
The HS offers a complete suite of one-click EZ Wizards to assist in networking and installation. The DVR will get an IP address, DDNS name and even use UPnP to port forward the router. Some of the options include the following:
• EZ Setup: for quick system setup
• EZ Network: for quick set-up on a network
• EZ Camera: quickly discovers and installs IP cameras
• EZ Search: quickly search events from thumbnails
• EZ Copy: auto copy what you are playing onto a USB flash drive
• EZ Record: setup recording schedules, resolutions and recording type in seconds
The HS unit also supports an optional USB wireless access point for viewing and configuration. A wireless access point-to-point connection to the DVR from a mobile or network device allows viewing and configuring the DVR where physical access to the DVR is limited or restricted.
