U.S. Cellular announced in mid-December that its OnLook Digital System is now available in Iowa and the Tulsa market in U.S. Cellular retail stores, online and over the phone. OnLook Digital System is a self-installed home automation and security system that can be managed via a smartphone, tablet or computer. It is not sold through security dealers; rather, direct to the consumer.
Powered by Alarm.com’s cloud-based software platform for the intelligently connected home, OnLook keeps homes secure and helps families manage their lives with convenient home automation options, the company stated. With three easy-to-install package options available, OnLook Digital System is available starting at $99.99 with a two-year contract.
The three OnLook package options include: Essential Security, Advanced Security and Advanced Security + Energy. Every package includes 24/7 professional monitoring.
Standard components include: a control panel, two door/window sensors, one motion sensor, one key fob, security signs and decals, and 24/7 professional monitoring.
Customers also receive real-time notifications through their mobile phone. In addition to these starter kits, U.S. Cellular is offering several security and automation accessories and add-on packages that allow customers to customize the solution to best fit their specific needs. Families can manage everything through U.S. Cellular’s online portal or via the Alarm.com ® smartphone app.
“We’re so excited to introduce the OnLook Digital System to our customers in Iowa and the Tulsa market,” said Joe Settimi, vice president of marketing, for U.S. Cellular. “OnLook is a solution that provides peace of mind to customers, making it simple to check in on your home, adjust lights, temperature and more through their tablet or smart phone. It joins our existing home solution offerings which include home phone and high-speed Internet services.”
Chicago-based U.S. Cellular said that by the end of 2014, more than 93 percent of its customers would have access to 4G LTE speeds. U.S. Cellular was named a J.D. Power and Associates Customer Champion in 2014 for the third time in four years.
“Alarm.com offers a leading hosted services platform that enables a wide range of connected home solutions with professionally monitored security at the core,” said Roy Perry, Alarm.com’s vice president of Ecosystem Alliances. “Powering the OnLook Digital System demonstrates the flexibility of our platform to support a range of market strategies and package offerings.”
