The Helix Security and Automation Platform by Resolution Products, Hudson, Wis., was named Best Residential Security Platform by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) in the techhome division of the Mark of Excellence awards during the International Consumer Electronics Show, held in Las Vegas in January.
According to CEA, the award was given to recognize the benefits of Helix’s unique and innovative architecture, and the positive impact it has on extending security dealers’ reach into the connected-home service offerings. Helix delivers its responsive platforms through a partnership with SecureNet Technologies, Orlando, Fla.
“Resolution has always served the professional security dealers well,” said Brian Seemann, president of Resolution Products. “While Helix is a breakthrough for the security industry, we are seeing growing opportunities in adjacent channels that can leverage the value of a UL-listed, battery-backed Internet-of-things (IoT) gateway. Not only is Helix the first professional security system designed as a gateway; it is also the first multi-radio IoT gateway designed to be always on, and always available.”
In conjunction with the award, Resolution Products announced an initial group of distributors that have signed agreements to carry the platform. The distribution network includes: Wave Electronics, Houston; eDist, Mahwah, N.J.; 21st Century Distributing, Garner, N.C.; Bursma Electronic Distributing, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Alarm Products Distributors, St. Paul, Minn.; Volutone Distributing, Simi Valley, Calif.; and Systems Distributors Inc., Atlanta.
