STANLEY Security, Indianapolis, announced the winning colleges and universities of its TOGETHER FOR SAFER SCHOOLS grant program. Those colleges and universities that accumulated the most votes in the contest across three tiers of student size – under 8,000 students, between 8,000 to 19,999 students and over 20,000 students — have been selected as this year’s grant recipients and will share in the $600,000 grant. The grants will provide the winning institutions with STANLEY Security installed products and solutions, consultative security services, campus security standards development best practices, and compliance education opportunities.
As the grand prize winners in the contest, the University of North Texas located in Denton, Tex., will receive a $200,000 grant, the University of West Georgia located in Carrollton, Ga., will receive a $150,000 grant, and Kilgore College located in Kilgore, Tex., will receive a $100,000 grant. The University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, Tex., is the recipient of a $75,000 grant, and Aquinas College located in Grand Rapids, Mich., is the recipient of a $25,000 grant. The sixth grant recipient is currently pending the school’s official acceptance of the award.
