OSM_enewsCypress’ new OSMIUM OSM-1000 device, which converts legacy access control equipment to the new OSDP security communication standard, was named winner of the New Product Showcase: Best in Access Control Devices & Peripherals award at ISC West 2015. The OSMIUM OSM-1000 is the first in a family of products specifically designed to allow legacy card access panels and readers interface with the Security Industry Association’s Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) standard. Wiegand, Serial, Strobed, ABA, Barcode and other widely used interfaces and formats are repackaged into an equivalent OSDP packet structure. The OSM-1000 can be field-configured as a reader-side or panel-side device.
