Citizens Bank hired Christopher E. Needham and Kenneth J. Mooney as managing directors of Citizens’ security alarm industry banking team.

Based in Boston, Needham and Mooney join veteran Citizens banker Jane Westrich as part of a focused effort to expand Citizens’ commercial banking capabilities serving companies in the security alarm industry and other similar recurring revenue business lines.

Most recently, Mooney and Needham were executives at Seguin Partners LLC, a Massachusetts-based private equity firm that Needham cofounded.

Previously, Needham had been a managing director at Bariston Partners LLC, a Boston-based private equity firm. He began his banking career with State Street Bank and later worked for Citizens Bank after Citizens acquired the commercial banking business, including his division’s security alarm specialty group, from State Street.

Needham earned his MBA from Harvard University and has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Maryland.

Before joining Needham at Seguin Partners, Mooney had been president and Chief Credit Officer at Fundation Inc., a next generation, SMB lending platform.  Previously, he served as Chief Credit Officer at State Street Bank.

Mooney began his banking career with State Street Bank and has also worked at Citizens Bank, Sovereign Bank and as president of Applied Materials Science Inc.

He earned his bachelor’s degree and MBA from Suffolk University.

“We are very pleased to welcome Chris and Ken to the team as we continue to grow our expertise serving the security alarm industry,” said Greg Buscone, senior vice president and market manager of specialized banking at Citizens Commercial Banking. “Their experience will be a great addition to the team as we work with our clients to help them grow and meet their strategic and financial goals.”
