Tamron Co. Ltd. launched a varifocal lens supporting megapixel resolution and NIR bandwidth. The Tamron 1/3-in. 5 to 50 mm F/1.6 IR vari-focal (model M13VG550IR) was developed to address needs with the bandwidth expanded to the NIR range while retaining a focal length range the same as the current model M13VG550. It features a lens with the spectrum range expanded to NIR and covering a focal length range most commonly used at telephoto end, enabling day and night surveillance with enhanced image quality and high efficiency. Tamron’s multi-layer coating technology is designed to suppress flare and ghosting. It also includes a large rotation angle for ease of focusing adjustment, a slip-mount mechanism that assists quick camera/lens set-up and a highly reliable auto iris mechanism.
