Bates Security, a residential and commercial security services provider of security, video, fire protection, access control, and life safety and environmental monitoring services, announced the recent acquisition of Kentucky Alarm Services from Ken and Sandy Duff.
Bates and Kentucky Alarm Services are both Lexington, Ky.-based, family-owned and operated businesses that have been friendly competitors since the early ‘80s. With the acquisition, Bates will be adding more than 1,500 customers.
“We are extremely excited that we have been entrusted by Ken and Sandy Duff to continue providing service to their customers. They have built a great business, and with them being right here in Lexington with us, our businesses were a perfect fit for each other,” said Jeremy Bates.
Bates Security is also proud to welcome several new employees to its team from Kentucky Alarm. These employees will be an important part of the immediate transition process and long-term servicing of the customers.
Bates Security was founded in 1984 by Sonny and Pat Bates, after purchasing the Sonitrol of Lexington franchise. It was recently awarded Small Business of the Year by Commerce Lexington.
