The Javits Center, New York City, is alive and buzzing today with a certain energy that only the security industry can bring with the opening of ISC East 2015. From installers and dealers to integrators and manufacturers, along with other attendees, everyone seems anxious to get day one underway.
Attendees flooded the show floor this morning to become acquainted with new product and service offerings, and with over 200 brands within the industry being represented, attendees probably won’t fall short of finding the solutions they need. In fact, ISC East claims over 50 new exhibitors this year, adding to the lineup of offerings on display from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Others will part ways to attend and participate in an offering of more than 20 educational sessions on topics such as cybersecurity, the seven deadly sins of alarm contracts and even monitoring social media. Additionally, the International Association for Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC) provides an opportunity, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today, for professional growth through a forum and workshop on “Basic Successful Security Consulting.” As conferees become better educated to serve the security industry, offerings from SIA Education@ISC qualifies for continuing education (CE) hours with industry accreditation bodies including ALOA, ASIS and NICET. Certificates of attendance will be distributed to all conferees after the show.
While that all sounds like a lot of hard work, there is some fun going on to help the day go smoothly. OneRoof (booth #659), Ganz Security (booth #428), Connectwise (booth #469) and ZKAccess (booth #546) sponsors of the official ISC East Golf Simulator, challenge attendees to take a break and take a swing! The only thing needed is a passport that attendees can pick up at the sponsors’ booths.
“This year, we’ve made it especially fun for ISC East visitors,” says Larry Reed, CEO, ZKAccess. “Visitors can stop by the ISC East Golf Simulator in the North Hall Lobby to take a break from the show and play their favorite golf course! At ISC East, they’ll enjoy great education and have some fun while at it.”
Toward the end of day one, ISC and Genetec invite everyone to crack the tap at a networking reception from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. to celebrate the security industry with food and drinks before heading to SIA Honors Night at The Current at Chelsea Piers to toast the past year of accomplishments within the security industry.
