Hanwha Techwin America’s new Wisenet P series with 4K UHD resolution, and Wisenet Q series cameras and recorders made their public debut at ASIS 2016. Together they represent more than 40 new additions to the company’s extensive surveillance portfolio. Both new Wisenet series feature the unique combination of H.265 compression along with Hanwha’s exclusive WiseStream technology, which together can significantly reduce overall bandwidth and/or storage requirements.

A highlighted introduction is a new Wisenet P series multi-sensor panoramic camera that captures 180-deg. panoramic seamless images via four 2 MP integral image sensors, along with numerous advanced features, to provide the highest levels of wide area coverage and situational awareness.

“Our new Wisenet P and Q series surveillance solutions define a new product strategy from Hanwha that encompass our core performance and value proposition, and address the growing demand for increased overall situational awareness, higher resolution, lower bandwidth and enhanced overall efficiency,” said Tom Cook, vice president of sales, Hanwha Techwin America. “These surveillance solutions are the new cornerstone of Hanwha’s product portfolio, which we will continue to enhance over the course of 2016 and into 2017.”

Hanwha’s new Wisenet P series 4K UHD resolution cameras are available in bullet, dome, vandal dome and PTZ configurations. Wisenet P Series cameras deliver a maximum resolution of 12 MP with frame rates of 20 fps at 12 MP and 30 fps at 8 MP (H.265/H.264) with the unique combination of Hanwha’s WiseStream technology and H.265 compression to significantly reduce bandwidth consumption and storage requirements.

One of the highlighted products displayed at the show was the Wisenet P series multi-sensor panoramic camera, which contains four 2 MP image sensors with 3.6 mm lenses to provide a seamless 180-deg. composite image. The PNM-9020V (shown above) features triple codec H.265/H.264/MJPEG together with WiseStream technology for superior compression, Hanwha described. Additional features include true WDR (120 dB) and true day/night operation for exceptional image quality in virtually any lighting environment.

Another highlighted camera in the Wisenet P series is the PNF-9010 4K fisheye camera (shown above). It offers a maximum resolution of 12 MP with frame rates of 25 fps at 9 MP and 20 fps at 12 MP, as well as dual de-warping within the camera and provides IR capability of 15-meter viewable distance. The ultra-high-definition camera supports video analytics, people counting, and heat mapping. Like the other models in the Wisenet P Series, the PNF-9010 4K fisheye camera offers H.265 and WiseStream Technology to deliver superior bandwidth and storage savings. Additional features include variable view and simple focus support, edge storage, and IP66/IK10 rating for outdoor models.

Available in 2 MP and 4 MP resolution, Wisenet Q series cameras are designed to provide a competitively priced video surveillance solution for mainstream applications. With more than 24 models to select from in bullet, dome and vandal camera configurations, Wisenet Q Series cameras feature H.265 codec with Hanwha’s WiseStream compression technology, along with a wide selection of performance features.
