ComNet Europe Ltd of Leeds in the U.K., a division of a U.S.-based manufacturer of fiber optic transmission and networking equipment, introduced a series of managed switches. The first of these is the all Gigabit CNGE11FX3TX8MSPoE managed switch with three SFP ports and eight TX Power over Ethernet ports. The switch is designed to protect the network it is being used on, offering multiple redundancy protocols to keep the network free from points of interruption. Two PoE options will be available for the TX ports. The standard PoE model delivers 30 watts of power to all eight TX ports, while the second option will deliver up to 60 watts of power to four of the TX ports to support products that require more PoE. ComNet products such as the CNGE11FX3TX8MSPoE are warrantied for life.
